ASSIGNMENT 5: CONTENT MARKETING

Hi I’m Nadine.

I’ve just completed Assignment 5 Content Marketing. In completing this assignment
I’ve researched and reviewed the different industry examples and included a summary of these in this assignment.

Heremag is an excellent example of a brand with a Unique selling proposition (USP). 

Firstly they use great travel related visual images to capture the attention of the audience. The product being promoted is not immediately obvious but the image should resonate with and inspire a travel audience. In my assignment example Heremag create value proposition by offering the audience the opportunity to experience a dream trip. They then attain ROI when they  ask the audience to ‘follow’ in order to be in to win. CTA is then gained by asking the audience to ‘sign up’ to  the competition.  The post also makes good use of backlinks to Increase SEO.

The content used by Heremag is Unique, inspires thought and attempts to connect with the
audience. In this way it offers the audience a different angle on subtly marketing the magazine. 

In my opinion the subtlety in ROI and CTA is better achieved by Heremag than by Wandering Earl.

Wandering Earl does a good job of using content marketing techniques however he doesn’t always do it in a subtle way. Every blog post has a CTA feature at the end and on arriving at the first page of his website you are also confronted by CTA. Wandering Earl does however have great use of  backlinks as well as native advertising techniques throughout his content.

World Nomad’s is another of the top examples from my assignment. They demonstrate great content marketing through the use of podcasts. Using podcasts creates a unique point of difference for the travel company and also ensures that there is new, fresh and original content available to optimise SEO and also to increase appeal and retention of an audience. 
Featuring different speakers  and different countries in each podcast will help to market to a wider target audience .

Fresh regular content is one of the negative points of legal Nomad’s Blog. Although Jodi does a great Job of content marketing through the use of ROI and backlinks on her blog, she could increase SEO further by incorporating some of the techniques used by World Nomads – namely featuring key speakers / writers to increase the freshness and regularity of content.

The last of my assignment examples was Royal Caribbean. In my opinion this company employed one of the finest and most subtle content marketing techniques. They used an engaging Youtube series to take the audience to different parts of the world. They use online influencers to tell a story about the location from their own unique point of view, whilst exploring the natural beauty of the travel location. This approach ensures the content has originality, authenticity and that it offers the  audience a unique selling proposition (USP ).
